Where did you grow up? Did you write as a kid? I grew up in in Connecticut, on a small farm with bees and goats and Christmas trees. In fifth grade I dreamed of being an author, and now I am. Thanks, Mr. Kurjan. 
Is D.J. Schwenk based on real life?  Is she based on you? No! I can barely hold a football. But I’ve met girls who play football — some of them inspired by Dairy Queen, woohoo!
What’s your birthday and where were you born?​ A Virgo, I was born in the 1960s in South Carolina.
