Actually, I was listening to a lot of Motown
when I was writing Dairy Queen. I even had a story line about
Grandpa Warren being into Motown and giving D.J. his records, but luckily
nothing came of it. I also had several mixes I’d made for riding
my bike, which I had set up next to the computer, and I’d blast
the music and plot out all the football scenes in my head as I pedaled
away – for some reason, it’s easier to picture something
athletic when I’m actually being athletic. Anyway,
I used the Blue Crush soundtrack a lot (like I've said, I
was really into this movie – and even more into the trailer),
and made up this version with the obnoxious sexist stuff tossed, thank
you very much, and the P.O.D. song added (which for some reason didn’t
make the “official” soundtrack), and also the theme song
from Girlfight, which was Michelle Rodriguez’s breakout
role and which everyone should see for the first two minutes.
